The owner could not have been more helpful and kept us informed of everything we needed to know and do. Halara is a family home - beautifully laid out with lots of little secret corners.”

“What a brilliant week we have just enjoyed in Halara
Not sure which I will think about most fondly now that we’re back home in the rain – the magnificent views of Kefalonia and mainland Greece, or the peace and quiet of siestas under the olive trees.
Actually, it’s both of these …. Plus the luxury of such a well equipped kitchen with its two dishwashers!”

“We are having an unbelievably lovely time and a proper holiday.
The house is absolutely beautiful, very comfortable and feels like a proper home, with so much attention and love having clearly gone into it - making it very unique and wonderful place to stay.
We love the fact that the house’s rural and private location is a few minutes drive away from the bustle of the coast, but within very easy reach of all restaurants, markets and great sea swimming.
Having said that, our kids have not wanted to move much from the villa: they’ve been as happy playing hide and seek, hunting lizards in the courtyard as playing Uno in the pool house. Late night swimming under the stars with the pool lights was a favourite too.
(Parents also very happy with cooked meal service, daily cleaning and massages.) A 10 out of 10 from everyone. Holiday perfection. Thank you! “

“What a delightful house to host my pre-wedding girls’ party.
The villa had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing and pampering trip. From yoga and pilates by the pool in the morning, with the sun coming up over the mainland in the distance – the scene was picture-perfect to afternoon walks down to the tiny church in the hamlet just below the house were a delight and a fabulous way to work up a thirst for sipping sundowners. And the views over the Ionian Sea are ones I will cherish forever.
Nearby we found the most delightful restaurants able and happy to accommodate our party. But mainly we enjoyed being at Halara. Relaxing by the pool, dining on the terrace, reading books under the shade of an olive tree. Magical. We even found a local masseur who came to the house. A perfect, chilled out and fun filled pre-wedding retreat.”

“My family and I have had the most magical holidays at Halara over the years.
We have loved exploring the north of this island and always discover new tavernas and swimming spots. The sea is unbeatable with no tides and crystal clear turquoise water. The kids take over the pool house as a playroom / monopoly gambling den and we lap up the views in relative peace from them. There is something for every age and never a problem of neighbours being disturbed as the house is so private and tucked away.
The air con works brilliantly and the interior is stylish and simple and not too precious. I long to take the family to Italy one year but am outvoted as this is where they want to be. You can be as pampered or self sufficient as you like at the house and we tend to mix it up which works really well."

“Thank you for another wonderful two weeks in Halara.
This is our thrird visit - and the children are already badgering me about next year! We really appreciated the yoga terrace with its unbelievable views, and the way the house is so comfortable and large for us all (three families the first week and two the second) whilst having great communal party and games areas.
You really have created the perfect barefoot luxury holiday haven - everyone relaxed and the girls asked me to add that top of their list were the massages they had at the villa along with two dishwashers!”

It is a traditional villa, charming and comfortable with everything that a large party needs. With Vikki’s help we found a boat and a cook which all made for a lovely, relaxing holiday.”

“Harala is a wonderful villa situated up a hill in a totally rural and peaceful location..
…amongst olive groves with far reaching views of the Ionian Sea, yet only 10 minutes drive from bustling tavernas and local life.
It is a perfect holiday house for friends or families - we had such a wonderful time and it feels like a home with the owner’s great touches and style, comfortable rooms and beautiful terraces around established gardens.
The infinity pool (within it’s own walled garden!) is amazing - the grandchildren adored it and didn’t want to leave.”

“We’ve just come back from Halara where we spent 5 blissful days with great friends.
We didn’t really know what to expect as our friend had booked it, and when we arrived at the house and walked through to the terrace my jaw dropped at the beauty of the views. My husband and I love to get to know a place, so every morning we set off in our hire car and amazingly we saw pretty much all of the island in a couple of days - it’s so easy to get around. We went to some really good tavernas and ate delicious seafood and loads of local specialities, mouthwatering! One nearby restaurant in a windmill served up the most amazing courgette salad, I asked for the recipe for the dressing and made it yesterday (not as good as theirs though!). We had so much fun staying at Halara, thank you so much - I’d highly recommend getting a gang together and heading out there for a fun filled (and seriously relaxing!!) holiday.”
